As a historian with a PhD, I am well versed both in the methodically rigorous detective work involved in archival research and in the bureaucratic hurdles that often accompany it. I am aided in this by a network of contacts that I have built up over the years.
The range of documents available for research is vast – which makes a professional approach all the more important. Archives contain, amongst other things,

How does a research project work?
Every research project is different.
Whether it’s a public research project, private genealogy or an academic paper, together we can narrow down your search and thus identify the relevant archive holdings. I will then carry out the search for you on site.
The preparation, procedure and duration always depend on the nature of the enquiry and the relevant archive holdings available. Put simply: what are you looking for, why, and for what period? The more detailed the enquiry, the more precisely I can set about finding what you need.
Normally, I will provide you with scans or photographs of the archival materials, or copies of audio and video recordings. On request, I can also produce transcriptions of documents that are difficult to read.
