Have you finished your bachelor’s or master’s thesis and want to be sure that your argument is presented in a coherent and clear manner?

Have you completed your dissertation and now ‘all that’s left’ is to get it published so you can finally claim that long-awaited doctorate?

Do you simply not want to have to deal with commas, superscripts, tables of contents and footnotes?

Recherche-Dienste offers an academic editing service for your theses (bachelor’s and master’s theses, dissertations), academic articles, monographs and other scholarly publications, and supports you every step of the way – from the manuscript you’ve painstakingly completed through sleepless nights to the finished book, polished to perfection.

Academic editing encompasses standard proofreading (spelling, grammar, punctuation) and a thorough review of the criteria for academic writing. Conceptual, stylistic or general inaccuracies in content, repetitions, ambiguous or problematic phrasing, logical errors, a lack of or insufficient rigour in the argumentation, or a structure that could be improved – everything is carefully scrutinised and discussed and optimised in close consultation with the authors.

I draw on my many years of experience in academic research and writing, both for my own work and for academic publications by colleagues and clients.

When editing, I follow two guiding principles:

    1. You are not writing your book for yourself, but for your readers. So make sure your writing is precise and easy to read – overly complex sentence structures inevitably lead to confusion.
    2. In the conclusion, deliver on what you promise in the introduction. That may sound obvious, but if only you knew…
